Is it just me.. or since kimi3 took the learderboards.. openai has suddenly started giving announcements, talking to the community on things to improve etc..

They started a bit more once 5.6 was released

anthropic such a joke already tho. what they've done with Fable has been ridiculous

On Kimi k3.. there is almost no guardrails... anthropic and openai have spent so much time making the models "safe" and here comes one better, cheaper, and no guardrails. I wonder going forward.. to stay competitive.. they are (IMO) going to have to relax their standards if they want to keep up.

Something else to think about.. once the weights release july 27.. there are going to be LOTS of distillations... Many of the other smaller models are going to quickly rise in intelligence.. making it very diffucult for the 2 flagship models to stay profitable..... but maybe that is the point.

sounds like an EO is coming to ban Kimi in the US. The EO will target all open source models or Kimi directly, not enough information is coming out yet. But something is coming related to it.

I wouldn't even consider using a China based AI even if they were paying me to do it.

Thats too bad from what I read kimi k3 is really good. Just slow.. because it does a lot of checks that fable skips.. to make sure everything actually works when the task is complete.

But I guess that could be one solution to keep the prices high.. ban all of the cheap ones

I just have a healthy distrust of any hardware/software produced in China due to their history and influence from the CCP.
