What is it with the classic/vanilla resurgence? Just nostalgia for the "good ol' days"? I think people remember games alot better than they were because that was all there was at the time. I tried eq1 a few years ago when they updated the engine.. It was still terrible. I made a bot for Echos of Angmar the 2007 lotro client.. There is a reason games have evolved since then... they were pretty bad..

Honestly, I did enjoy Classic when it released WAY more than retail, but half of what made Vanilla so great was the community. Classic never quite got that back.

Yeah, they want to shutdown any "decent" private servers.

Best thing about vanilla servers (not classic): they are old school, so they play decently well with just the integrated GPU.

When I first started running ESO in a vm (before gpu passthrough) I was quite suprised at how well it can run on a cpu...
