Sorry if this is referenced somewhere else on the board but I did a search and came up short. But what is the difference in the patrol and campaign?

They are basically the same.

Campaigns are meant to load patrols.. and do non fighting/navigation things.

Patrols are designed to do fighting things, and navigation.
